United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Another 10MY fault

Went to start my 9 week old TDV8 on Tuesday and as soon as the engine had started it came up with the red warning triangle and the message to stop the engine as soon as possible. Checked oil - had plenty of it and I tried again - same message. Called LR assist who sent a very helpful AA man and of course when he got there (within about 20 minutes) the fault had gone and couldn't be replicated. He accompanied me home and read the fault log - no faults - but apparently they only have very restricted access to the log file - helpful huh!

Phoned dealer (not the one I bought the car from as I cannot bring myself to ever talk to them again they were quite so unhelpful with another fault the car had on delivery) who wants to check the car so its back to the garage... again! Quite helpful actually as I can get the list of minor faults sorted - steering pulls to the left and the centre drink holder console springs open whenever you put your down.

Great product this £58k car.... NOT!

Anybody else seen intermittent faults like this?

"9 week old"..... There is your problem right there.... I was told by a LR dealer never buy a new one get on a year old as they all go a bit bonkers in the first year. So thats what I did and saved £13k and touchwood bar a faulty windscreen (elements stopped working) which was replaced under warrenty in the 18 months we have had the old gal not one fault! hpoe u get all sorted BTW. and if u want to swap for a reliable one give me a shout..

I waited about 6 months after launch before we bought ours.

Gives them time to sort out the early blips.
