Thinking laterally, you could save the time/effort and not use an insurance company that requires a tracker. Not all do. Unless of course, you want a Tracker - then it's immaterial

LR Watch had problems with the tags not working at the start, but seem to have resolved the issue now. Glad I've not had to use their service for real but it does work all over europe. When the tags didn't work you got about 100meters from the house and alarms would ring etc. The monitoring company were always on the ball and helpfull.

All trackers are useless and waste of money in my eyes. It is silly thinking that once you have a tracker your provider can track your stolen car. Speaking from experience one of our family cars had a tracker installed for just over £3000 and we were paying £500 a year for the service. Never the less the car got stolen on 5th attempt. The investigation revieled that ... (public forum is probably not the best place to mention how they did it )

Direct Line insisted I fitted a Tracker to my RRS and they even specified which model!

My RRS is curently having the interior put back after it was stolen and the scumbags ripped the inside out trying to find the Tracker. As they dodnt know if it did or didnt have one presumably thats the first thing they do. I have a Tracker Horizon which wasnt activated until at least 12 hours after the car was driven off (I was in St Lucia) but it was located by the tracker and found in Barking just an hour after it was activated, so I would say Tracker does work IF you want the car back. |

Car Theives, aka Scumbags, normal MO is to park up the car somewhere they can observe it for a couple of days.

Mate, I am glad that you got your car back. And am sure that 100 others do as well. Though, similar story. Had the interior done up twice after the f...s ripped it apart. Unfortunately they did not give up. I guess they just wanted the car for the sake of it - to beat the tracker. And they did. They did not bother parking the car or removing the tracker. Well do not get me wrong people but it is silly wasting time trying to remove the tracker. I admit that these chaps must have been very clever with access to clever devices. The way they overcame the tracker was really fascinating (I obviously can not go into detail as this is a public forum and it could provide info which I bet you would not appreciate). However, as a conclusion, spending a penny on this device is waste of money in my book. |

Well, I've found an insurance company that will insure us for £364 without tracker. I think I would be better off if I just pay a single amount for GAP insurance, then I would get all the money back.
