He then sounded shocked that I said I actualy wanted to know why there wasn't one on there in the first place
(shock that I want to know what happened to a car I have bought, idiot!).
So I'm now awaiting a call from a sales manager (so he can spin me a line or two)

My toys, i can assure you the engine bay vin is a sticker, i had my last car stolen and the vin in the engine bay was changed, the police took it away as evidence and the replacement *sticker VIN was ordered from CHPR, the form you have to fill in for Land Rover to re issue is very strict and you need to provide evidence that you are who you say you are!
