B choice tyres?

I've got an offer for 4 Contis tyres, size 275 40 20 106Y brand new from a firm selling carparts in germany.
They will cost me 189 euro incl tax each.

Then i discussed this with the local tyre shop, and they told me to be carefull because they could be B choice tyres. (as if in they didn't pass the 100% quality controll)

Is this true?
If so, are those tires marked as such?
What are the consecuences, if any?

Thanks.

SW

I actually remember that some 20 years ago I bought this sort of tyres.
But they were clearly labelled as "blem", including a red spot on each tyre.
Honestly I do not believe that nowadays tyres manufacturers would put on the market this sort of tyres.
And, in case, they should be well labelled so aas to avoid any misunderstanding with perfect ones.
E.g. when i buy "imperfect" Levis Jeans, the label is torn away.

However, it sounds like the typical excuse of the next-door tyre seller, selling tyres at highest prices than the cheaper ones on the web..

My opinion.. My gallery: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=994

By the way, did you also check the DOT of the tyres? My gallery: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=994

Thanks for your response.

No i didn't see the tyres, since it's an internet offer.

I could ask the seller to put the quality of the tyres in black and white.

These questions arose to me because the price seems to be too low in my opinion, since i pay 280 euros each in the actual shop.

Don't know about these "B" tyres, but I'd say don't put your or your family's life in the hands of tyres that are unusually cheap.

Again, ask for the DOT .. they might be well seasoned..
LAst time I bought tyres (always on internet) the seller was selling the same tyres in two version...the cheapest was produced three years ago and had a 30% discount .. check for this .. might be the case. My gallery: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=994
