Buying this week - What to look for

Hi,
I'm hopefully picking up a 2007 RRS TDV8 this week. When inspecting the vehicle what should I be looking out for? Are there any issues that should have been resolved. I'm worried about the 'knocking' etc.

Sorry if this seems a boring question but I guess you're the guys who'll know..
Cheers.

The knocking sound you're referring to is the worn anti roll bar bushes which is a common fault but covered under warranty.

If you're buying from a dealer you'll have the warranty so anything mechanical is covered.

I would make sure the paintwork is spotless and try viewing it in direct sunlight to ensure no scratches or marks are evident.

I'm sure others will chime in with more info but that's where i'd start. Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

Hi,
I'm also hopefully buying a 2007 RRS TDV6 this week. When I test drove it last night I also heard the knocking from the front of the car over bumps, could it be anything more serious than the AR bar bushes.

Mine has covered 42,000 miles & I believe is due a service shortly, which service & what also should I check for under warranty before buying.

Any other known problems or issues - sorry only just joined so need to catch up ASAP before committing to buying in the next couple of days.

People: Bushes will not cure the knocking "characteristic". It may quieten it down and for some longer than others, but there remains NO FIX Exclamation L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Look out for premature wear on the 'leather' covering the steering wheel (possible warranty replacement), bodged wheel repairs or damaged wheels.

That it has a spare wheel as they get nicked on a regular basis, that the phone software has been upgraded and works through Bluetooth with your phone (get this sorted before you take the car), if its got one, that the sunroof doesn't leak, look for witness marks of damp.

Basically, its all pretty usual stuff, as mentioned if its from a LR dealer, you really shouldn't have a problem, well apart from the above.

Good luck with your purchase!'Thumbs Up' .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.
