I was thinking of ways to prevent a neighbours cat from sitting on our car bonnets having encountered a few tiny scratch marks on my other halfs Freelander 2 which is barely 2 weeks old.

Somebody posted this on another forum I'm a member of....it's evil but would probably work!

I hate cats, if they are not sitting on somebody elses car, they are spraying scent over the front/rear bumper

My personal chose was a supersoaker water pistol

Personally i would never get the cat whilst sat on the car as it will do this

from Sleep >get wet> get claws out > try get grip on your cars bonnet > scratch it even more

But that was funny

Try placing the car repellant products around your houses boarders, maybe loading a watergun up with a liquid form to shoot them with
