BT Phonebook names

Is it possible to manage the phonebook entry? I have a iPhone 3G and my RRS read the information of the phonebook. The problem is they are sorted by family names and I want sorted by first names.

I don't think there is a sort option through the BT module.

I use the Samsung Omnia, and the order of the names through BT was not the same as through the phone. It looked strange at first, some was in order and then a random entry in a strange place.

I worked out that it was down to how the info was stored on the phone, if saved to Sim didn't show up at all, if saved to phone and saved as a designation of 'mobile', 'home' or 'work' treatment was different.

I had to reorder my numbers in the phonebook on the phone all under one designation, to ensure it worked through the BT module in a relative order.

So in summary the module works according to how it finds the info on the phone, so you may need to reorder your Iphone phonebook, to get a sensible order on the bt module.
As there are different operating systems on phones each type would be handled differently on the module.

Maybe someone with an Iphone will be able to give you an Iphone relevant answer. Thumbs Up

P.S. And a bit shorter answer Wink

It's down the way in which the module reads the phonebook. It only caters for contact records stored on the phone (not on the SIM, unless your phone has a remote SIM mode) and then only the "default" record of a multi-record contact.

I know it's not very good, but that's the way it was if I remember right.
