Hi there.

Ive smashed my sat nav screen putting some long bits of wood in to my car, ive asked the dealer for a price on a new one and they are £1400+vat .

They say the screen doesnt come seperate and its a full new unit, does anyone know what make the sat nav is so i could maybe send it for repair to them? or if i take the smashed part out will the touch screen work with out it? as it doesnt at the minute?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ouch! I thought the screen was a separate unit but ISTBC. Obviously keep an eye on ebay as these do come up and also remember the Discovery 3 screen is the same as the RRS's. Best of luck. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Ive seen that on ebay, but i think the price will rocket. im going to take it out and remove the glass, just hope it works without it. is it the glass or the actual screen that is the touchscreen part?.

Sorry to hear this - for reference, even if you found out the manufacturer, they wouldn't be able to help you - LR will own all rights to the after market parts as they pay for tooling etc - the OEM cannot legally sell you anything (even repair)

the seller on ebay has a few of them for sale so 150 will buy it if its that equicar 4x4 Item number: 390097210258

if your not in a massive hurry i am back on thursday and might be able to get a used one for a bit cheaper around 100 quid or so "ha ha HA HA" laughing all the way to the bank!

Try some of the breakers, there where a couple on ebay with full cars to break or if i remember correctly Tim from Scotland knew a few names.

send a part request on either 247spares of firstchoice both sites are pretty good just make sure if you get a response that they confirm that they have the part in stock as some dealers on there will take your order then try to source the part though this is rare.
