Audi Q5 What do you think

This will get me shot on here.

I have been giving thought to chopping in my RRS for a 3.0 Q5.

I have only been thinking about it. Fuel consumption and wear and tear I should imagine to be a lot less expensive. Loads of things seem to have gone wrong on these cars, this forum is full of grumbles.

But, I have not driven one.

Suspect I will stick to some form of LR, bit of a BRIT car lover really. Food for thought. Mr B

I have only driven the Q7, but it was a very good drive.

The 3.0 V6 Tdi easily outperformed the 2.7D but not so sure it would do the same Vs the new 3.0 TDV6.

The interior was also infinitely better than the RRS although that too could well have changed.

I'm sure overall it would be a good car but better than a RRS?

I've not really seen the point of the Q5 - it's a bit like the X3 in that respect. At least the FL2 has offroad capability in addition to being a medium size SUV.... it's doubtless a good car though, but worth attempting to stretch to the Q7?

Point of the X3 - My wife likes hers as it is a 4x4 (she likes being higher up on the road) and it doesnt need to be as big as a X5. Also cheaper which helps justfy it for an "about town run around". They now have a X1 which I expect is only 10cm shorter than the X3.

is the Q5 interior better than the new RRS? I doubt it. New RRS reminds me of a BMW 7 series, maybe not quite as good but very very close.

In the end it comes down to cost. You have a budget and buy a car that fits within that budget. Am sure the Q5 is a good car for the money (as are most Audis and BMWs).

I think you can't compare a Q5 with a RRS. Maybe with a Freelander II.
I think the new RRS with TDV6 isn't as fast as a Q5 (Q5 only weight 2t). But the interior of the new RRS is much better.
My girlfriend drives a Q5 and it's a nice car but it's more a sporty car than a offdroad SUV. A RRS is more elegant and you can drive offroad. Wink
If you a real RRS driver you must keep the RRS. Wink They are plenty of Audi driver!

Like most Audi's the Q5 should be a nice piece of engineering, looks quite contemporary as do most Audi's.

Haven't driven it or the Q7, which from the side looks like a minibus, Toyota Previa anyone?

But a Q7 is large. Wink The Q5 has got less space than the RRS.
And yes the Q7 looks like a minivan.

white is the only colour it looks nice in.

My RRS looks nice in Silver, but the RR does not, neither does the Q5. Funy how different cars look good in differnt colours.

Maybe I should go for a Vogue. Just fancy a change. Love the interior on a Vogue. Mr B

Nice choice. Wink I love also the interior of the FFRR.
But the rear lights? In my opinion they looks too old fashioned.
