That will be brilliant. Cant wait to see the video.

PS Does anyone know of anywhere cheaper / mobile to order spare keys. The main dealer way seems ridiculous. Mr B

I wonder if it is true with programming. Few months ago I odered a new key to my car. it was suppose to take 3 weeks to deliver, because it had to be issued by LR UK based on VIN of the car.

When it finally arrived after 5 weeks, it appeared that the key had been cut incorrectly and it doesnt fit.

I agreed with dealer that I take the key and have the blade cut myself somewhere else and then I will need to come to the dealer to program it.

But surprisingly when I had the blade cut it appeared that the remote was already programmed! and I did not need to go to the dealer again.

So now I suspect that once the factory produces the key based on VIN they already program it, despite the fact that the dealer say that it has to be programmed by them.

Now that is, very intersting. Thanks

worth trying

LRA can send a recovery truck(low loader without skates), but this would usually be from a contracted out recovery firm. You would need to ensure LRA understand they need a LRA technician to attend who can release from Park without the key, in case the Recovery Driver can't or won't - not insured for damage etc.
I would expect LRA to be able to do this, to recover a stolen car when all keys are missing they would have to disengage park.

Replacement keys are only available from LR Dealers AFAIK. I understood the cost was approx £160 for key inc programming.

MRB - try Lindacre in Ipswich. They sourced a brand new key from landrover within three days.

I had a similar problem a few months ago,I locked my keys, wallet and phone in the car miles from anywhere down a country lane.
I rang LRA and they said they would send a recovery vehicle but it would have to be one with a crane to lift it onto the load bed and I would have to pay the difference from a normal one.
Other option was for them to send a taxi to take me home for the spare keys but wouldn't send the taxi to my home and then deliver the key to me. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.
