I think the cameras not been held straight and with a Little extra angle makes it look very steep with the grass in the frame half up or down the hill growing at 45 degrees from vertical, but then panning along you see somebody at the bottom of the hill and the trees

If you don't believe the veracity of the video, look at the trees in the back ground. This is a true film as it has appeared with various other Land Rover owners trying to show their Defenders and Discos trying the same slope, most don't get more than halfway up - one Defender came down it backwards at a hell of a lick, so far only FFRR, D3 and RRS have made it ie the cars with full TR and low ratio transfer boxes. OffRovering, a member here and RRNet and maker of rock sliders for D3 and RRS has also some very spectacular videos on his website of his RRS on the Lions Back in Arizona - I think Umbertob also has some pics of his car on it. The slope is as steep as that one...................... but smoother rocks! In that video you can see the HDC working well at braking the wheels and then letting the car inch forward on the downslope 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

And you think that looks bad, some of the other clips show 4x4's going up and down the Lions Back at Utah.....made me feel a little ill just watching, I'd be crying like a baby if I had to do it for real!

If you read the comments the driver doesn't use HDC as it kicks in at too great a speed (2.2mph?), he says its right foot on the brake all the way down! ![]() ![]() |
