As much as I can't stand the advert, I found Swiftcover was the cheapest for the wife and I. She is registered as the main driver and has 5 years NCB bonus, 33 and only held a licence (as she's from the US) in the UK for 5 years. Just over £550. If I had it on my policy, it would have been cheaper but already have my NCB tied up on my M3. Very simple process and the options on line were very straightforward. |

One other thing to take into account is that with LRI your car will be repaired at an LR approved place with genuine LR parts (if that really counts for anything with some of the stories we hear on here about some LR service outlets!) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

OK - haven't gone back to Direct Line yet but - LR Insurance was £1188, AVIVA was £597 and SWIFT cover was £421. Now I know that Swift are a bit of an unknown in terms of customer service etc but seeing as I have never claimed on a policy in all my years driving ....does it really matter. The SWIFTCOVER quote before I added on a few extras was £320!!!

Did you try Tesco? Not joking but they are usually very competitive. I cannot understand why you are being asked for so much from LRI, unless you are a "young" driver and not increasing you excess........ National Farmers Mutual (aka NFM) are also reputed to be very good. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

1st Central Insurance quoted me £495 and I have 9 points. Without the points would have been £364. Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20" |

Thanks to all - Swift got the business in the end - very easy to deal with as all online - even sending proof of ncd which has always historically been a pain when changing insurers - R32 to be insured next - let's see how they do on that one!
