I have done a search on this site and not found anyone reporting this problem, has anyone any experience?

When parked up with the engine idling and a front door open (Driver or Passenger) the engine cuts off when you close the door. There are no related alarms or indications (including NO INDICATIONS once the engine has stopped such as Charging or Oil Pressure!). The engine re-starts fine by turing it off and on.

Another hidden extra!! First i have ever heard of this happening!

Never heard of that either

Some fault in the wiring harness maybe? There will be actuators or sensors in the door/frame to enable the "door open" warning so maybe something wrong in there? Just a guess of course

That is a new one out of interest was it new to you or pre owned? If pre owned who by? I know some police cars have a system fitted by which keys can be left in with engine running but some actions render the car inactive (for obv reasons)..... just a thought however unlikely .....

I have owned it from new (2007)

It has had various problems in recent months with the EGR Valves which brought up a christmas tree display of warnings and it had a turbo sensor fault which caused the engine to cut out twice at speed with no warnings at all. All have been fixed so this looks like a new problem

Hi all,

I had the same thing happening to me.
On the way home from the dealers, after i bought the car.

Stopped, kept engine running, got out of the car, closed the door.
Opened the drivers door again, engine stalled. No warnings.
After restarting this never happened again.

I guess this must be an English thing...
