Dealership that covers the area is Lakeland Land Rover with several dealerships spread over the area, they are well thought of by some of the D3 guys from Scotland who go there to buy their new cars.

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Java Black

I lived there for 25 years and have used Lakeland in the past - very good and reliable service

Thankfully I escaped to civilisation a few years ago but keep going back up there each month to visit the family.

North (West) Cumbria highlights appart from the scenery .....

Carlisle is a small city right next to the motorway and everyone speaks wierd!
If you want to fight all the time, live in Millom
If you want to see lots of sheep and have a windy existence, head north to Whitehaven or Workington

South Cumbria is a little more agreeable with my home town Ulverston being close to lots of lovely villages and not to far from the motorway network

Hope this helps and apologies for any offence caused to Cumbrian readers Wink RRS TDV6 SE Java Black +towpack +tintent +Permagrin

What a difference between this and my old Disco3

Don't forget that on a bank holiday the place is so crowded that you will wish you had bought a retirement home in Scotland............................. where there is plenty of room for the inhabitants and the tourists. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I admitt it will be very bleak in the winter and when it rains....which could be most days Rolling with laughter

Thankfully it's a bit of the main tourist route. Facilities aren't too bad for a rural area.

House prices are very good. Crime is low.

Good access to the western fells and since I'm the outdoor type I'll be happy with that.

Got a lot of plus points. So I'll have to go and have a wee look. TDV6 - gone

You'll need to speak to these people before you move in.

I was thinking of one of those heat exchanger units that takes heat from the air even down to temps of -15 put it through a reverse refrigeration thingy mebop and keeps your house heated. Tested in Norway in the winter. Only running cost is turning the fan that sucks the air in.

Or there's one of those ground heat systems TDV6 - gone
