watch out for DELHI BELLY!

When you get it jsut fast for 24 hours and drink lots of bottled water! and it will be gone in a day.

DO not use any medical products as all they do is keep everything inside including the bugs and it gets a lot lot worse.

Delhi might be a good place to to see the sights within the Golden Triangle which though tourist traps are well worth visiting and Ranthambore National Park where the Tigers still roam. It can get a little boring if no tigers found but boy you will get a thrill if a sighting is made

I would avoid Mumbai altogether if possible. Delhi is a nicer place to enter the country and closer to the places lespes mentions above. There are a huge amount of places worth visiting but impossible to do in one visit. Kerala in the south has some nice places as well and if you go at the right time of the year, the Andaman Islands have great beaches but fights are infrequent. If you're interested in religious places, then the Golden Temple in Amritsar is an awesome place to visit.

Don't drink tap water in big cities and make sure seafood is fresh. Also carry some toilet paper in your luggage, lol.

As somebody who has never been to India but has been to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and a few other places around the world Whistle I would suggest that you also don't eat salad vegetables unless you have seen them being washed in bottled water - even the best hotels that are parts of some of the greatest hotel chains in the world have hygene problems in less developed countries (mainly due to staff not washing their hands properly after performing bodily functions Shocked ). Also check the seals on bottled water bottle caps - in many countries the locals run a nice scam in selling you recycled bottles from expensive imported bottled water refilled with local tap water. Be careful with icecubes and ice-cream too! I suppose you cannot say you have seen the real India unless you have been laid low with Delhi Belly for a couple of days......................
From my experience in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka you will find the beggars daunting - whatever you do don't stop to give them any money/"presents" you will be subject to crowds of them if you do and they attract pick pockets and petty thieves to tourists. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I've been to Goa but for gods sake don't go in April!!

It's when humidity is highest building up to monsoons.

Apart from that, as above and just be careful what and where you eat. The big hotels will be safer but you have to experience food from the beach shacks. We did and never had any squits in two weeks Laughing Thumbs Up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
