2 questions???

First is there a reason why my compass doesn't work on 4X4 mode? When I select it, it says something like it isn't available.... Second is there anyway to set the truck up to automaticly lower itself when you shut it off then go back to reg. when you start to drive or do you always just have to push the button yourself?

First of all: It is not a truck! Have a look what Andy drives in the off-topic section, that's a truck! Rolling Eyes Wink

I can't answer your first question, however I can answer the second: It is not possible to automatic lower the RRS, but if it is just down and not locked it will raise itself automatically if you just start driving: Once you exceed a certain speed (I think something about 6mph) it will raise itself to normal height. RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

Well coming out of a BMW 745 the range rover is a truck Smile

I know it adjusts it self up when going over what ever speed. I guess I could set my 3rd button on key to have it lower insted of popping open my boot, I just thought it would be cool if it lowered on it's own.

for my other question I just feel it to be odd that it doesn't work, it just shows me the 4 wheel mode. Does everyone else's work when you select it?

Got your PM, Angel! Laughing

I'm not too sure of this compass thing myself. We too get a similar message and the general feeling is that it's because we do not have the proper Navigation CD installed. It need the CD to navigate.

According to the literature..

4x4 I

4x4i gives the driver additional information regarding the following vehicle systems:

Suspension travel
Gear selected
Range selected
Terrain response
Vehicle heading
Compass heading
Steering wheel angle.

The 4x4i System uses inputs from other vehicle systems to display information about suspension and transmission operation along with navigational information.

I have the factory CD that came w/the car... That's weird... OK..

Last question for the day Smile

I'm confused w/the "Prog" button and defrost what is the diff? Reading the book seems that the Prog button puts on both front and rear defrost, NO? So would it be used if I wanted/needed both front & rear defrost on and if I needed only front OR rear defrost I would hit the the front OR rear button on it's own? Or is there a different use? Like for just frost/fog and defrost is for melting ice/snow? Sorry I just don't understand the book.

yes it works:

go to off-road navigation and check if compass is there and working (it should) then go back to your 4x4 information screen and click the compass symbol

voila!!!

I know the problem with the compass. I had the same problem.
You have to calibrate the compass. I'm not sure how but check under setting on your navigation.
