Didn't see them last night due to the rain but they were visible just on Tuesday night, the wife seen her second shooting star. Here in Belgium the sky is so light polluted that only the brightest stars shine through, but they do turn off the majority of the street lights at about 1am. The best meteor shower I seen was the Leonids back in 1999 when I was travling from Wick in the far north of Scotland, they were every few seconds and very bright, my mother was totaly amazed by it, better than any Guy Fawkse night she said. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Couldn't see a thing last night appart from a orange street light glow

my dad has a telescope with a electronic star finder though he never really uses it as I don't think he had the thing setup right when he uses it so couldn't find anything

Wozz: my grandad has one too I could see if he's selling it as he doesn't use it anymore due to ill health

I had a look and it was nothing but clouds, couldn't see anything let alone a meteor shower.

It's amazing what you can see when there's no light pollution. Looking up at the sky whilst in the middle of Oz, or out in the desert in Arizona, you see so much more that you didn't even realise was there (and in Oz, stars that you never see in the northern hemisphere either I presume).

I'd also just like to mention Uranus Whistle

Lol someone had to make the joke.

I'd be interested in the scope but there are so many cheap ones up for grabs at the stargazerslounge.com forum and I have no clue which is best for me in my garden with a street light next to it. Clusters I should be able to see I can't due to this bloody street light which lights up absolutely nothing as its on a piece of grass by the fence at the back of my house - its not even a road so I dunno why its there.

If you let me know what type of scope it is mate I will look into it - and ofc thats if he wants to sell it.

Of course someone had to mention that particular planet. ow many of you have seen Uranus out in a dark but public place? WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

Didn't see anything up my way, just thick cloud! I did a twenty mile round drive at about 2 in the morning (really, don't ask! Laughing ) and yet still didn't see anything! Did see Jupiter, I think, a few nights ago at midnight! Maverick off disco3!

Should be better tonight as the cloud is passing and the ground mist has lifted.

I use a 10" LX200R with a Starlight express mono camera and for widefield I use a 125mm f5 Orion.
I sometimes put a ex CCTV cam on the LX to pipe the pictures into the house to view remotely. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Unfortunately not, was at a house part miles from anywhere, then had to go home, which is also miles from anywhere! Got home at 3 in the morning!

However, road beers sounds like a plan... Thumbs Up Maverick off disco3!
