suspension

when i lower my car and start to drive it automaticly goes up while im driving, my question is are you not ment to drive while is lowerd. if you cant then why there is a option for it

It's fine to drive whilst lowered, however only at low speeds - 10mph I think unless you lock it in access mode when it's 20mph.

If you exceed the speed it will warn you and then automaticaly raise the suspension. This is due to less 'travel' in the suspension in access mode, so it's ability to absorb bumps is limited. Driving at speed will mean your suspension is even less able to absorb any bumps. Very useful in places such as underground or multi storey car parks, where height is limited but where you do not need to drive over 10mph.

The same principle applies to driving in off road height, only up to a certain speed and then the car will lower to standard height. Not sure of the reason here, probably due to the higher centre of gravity meaning the car would less stable at speed.

You'll know when you have a fault, all sorts of lights on the dash come on and messages, and funnily enough the car drops the suspension to the bumps, just like access mode. And you can still drive it above the speed limit for access mode.

Now that always confused me. Laughing
