The looneys have def taken over the country now

Seen today in the papers. Have you ever heard of such lunacy and I wonder what would be said if you refused to move in future. End up charged with obstructing a police officer for refusing to get a ticket.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

IIRC there is no requirement to give way to an emergency services vehicle - they are required to comply with the Highway Code like everybody else, it would be interesting to know if the ambulance was showing in the photo because the red light camera would also have been set-off by it passing! I know we all pullover or make life easier for the drivers of fire-engines and ambulances etc but legally you aren't required to. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

In France, you can get a ticket/points off if you DO NOT make way to the emergency vehicule as long as it has BOTH lights and sirens on....If only one of them is on, it is not in an emergency mode. Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6

The UK highway code says this:

Quote:
Emergency and Incident Support vehicles. You should look and listen for ambulances, fire engines, police, doctors or other emergency vehicles using flashing blue, red or green lights and sirens or flashing headlights, or Highways Agency Traffic Officer and Incident Support vehicles using flashing amber lights. When one approaches do not panic. Consider the route of such a vehicle and take appropriate action to let it pass, while complying with all traffic signs. If necessary, pull to the side of the road and stop, but try to avoid stopping before the brow of a hill, a bend or narrow section of road. Do not endanger yourself, other road users or pedestrians and avoid mounting the kerb. Do not brake harshly on approach to a junction or roundabout, as a following vehicle may not have the same view as you.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Fuji White

this guy has now been let off the ticket and the police have released a statement saying they will do the same for anyone else in the same position.

They have said they dont want people to hold up the emergency services as much which is understandable
