squealing at front

Seem to have a problem with the front end squealing when i move the steering wheel left to right.
sounds like a metal squeal. This happened after a motorway journey of about an hour.

Any ideas? Crying or Very sad

Does it sound like a "wear" noise.... could be front suspension bushes. Time for a trip to the dealer Smile

LR usually cover just out of warranty repairs - one word of warning though, whereas before they would do various repairs within say 6 months they now only will do one, so get your dealer to give you the option to pay if it's a cheap job just in case a bigger problem is around the corner, the choice is yours. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

i have this same noise, coming from the steering rack inside the car, dont know if it is superficial plastic rubbing, or if its a mechanical problem!

aparently i need new antirole bars... would that affect it? RR Sport supercharged 06

There have been quite a number of TSBs on steering squeaks etc.
Here's one...

The noise is actually coming from the front brakes. Pads and disks are in good nick tho. Going to give them a good clean up and see if it stops. It stops squealing when brakes are applied and gets worse on right hand bends. Confused

Just had a Tsb done to my car to remove a small squeak from the power steering. Washed out and an additive added cured the problem.

Before you ask I don't know the tsb number Embarassed TDV6 - gone

Rightio,

Seems the noise was actually coming from the rear wheel, one the techies drove around the carpark with half the garage following him around! checking for the noise....

It seems when the pads get low, the caliper doesnt have the movement to pull the pad completely off of the disc,
and so it sits on the disc and produces the god awful noise!

New pads in the rear yesterday and so far so good!

cheers
james.
