Turbo bust

Hey,

after already 8000 km i hear an ziiiiiiischhhhhhhhhh from my turbo. i think its damage. i was by rr here in munich and they said the same. Censored , i have to drive with this 2 weeks because they dont have time earlyer to repair it. how this could be? i thought to destroy this car it has to been WW3. But this is not the one and only problem: the noises at the driver side door panel (i wrote it in another topic), the rearlights are leaky (one side) and since 2 days i hear some noise from under the car when i drive on bad streets. and: i saw many rusty sites under the car after 4 month. i have gurantee but this dont have to been with an car in this price segment. 4th may i will give the car back to let it repair. i hope after that i have peace Smile

oh, and another question: we would like to go to london in 2 years, can i use my car there or is it problematic? i have an LH and the traffic there is RH. Can i buy this ticket for london with foreign license numbers?

thanks

I am sorry to hera about the problems with your RRS. Hope that they get sorted...

Though the amusing bit is that why do you bother about a trip to London which is two years from now??? Rolling with laughter
By the way I have been driving a LH car in the UK for almost two years now without any problems Thumbs Up

Yes this i mean Smile

But back to question: is it possible that the turbo makes noises after only 9000 km? RRS TDV8 Modelyear 2009 with some modifications.

Technically it should not make any noise after 9000km...
But speaking from exprience, on one of my previous petrol powered cars I had to exchange turbo twice in only 45000 km Evil or Very Mad The dealer claimed that I am not "nice" to the vehicle Rolling Eyes
So I sold the f Censored car and changed the make Rolling with laughter

About 6 months ago my car also made a whistlling noise under accelleration.
Initially i thought it was caused by a malfunction in one of the turbochargers.
Apparently it was due to a leaking manifold.
After driving around for 4 weeks (waiting list) with my car sounding like it swallowed a canary,it took my dealer 2 full days to get the problem fixed as the body had to be detached from the chassis completely in order to replace the manifolds,nice..... RRS TDV8 Alaska White,Remap, JE exhaust,DPF Removed

That's actually a routine operation with a RRS - just 10 bolts and a few electrical connectors, then lift the body on a normal two-post lift. It is designed to be easy for maintenance of the drivetrain.

Although the guys of the service department made it sound more like openheart surgery they apparently just blew it out of proportion then. RRS TDV8 Alaska White,Remap, JE exhaust,DPF Removed

hehe...

got my rrs back today. without any result! i have to give the car back for over 1 week because:

they cant locate where the noise is. so, they have to degrade the whole car!! Shocked in detail: the will lift the autobody from the chassis to check the turbos and the exhaust mainfold.. great! also they will change the seat because it moves when i give gas or press the brake back and forth.. hehe.. can just laugh! Rolling with laughter

i have the car since januar 1st and was at the dealer i think 4-5 times. the last 2 days i got an passat (economy class.. AWFUL!!!) but next time they will give me an x-type. i hope its better than the passat.

Thanks god that i have a new car with warranty! just problems with the car. but i wouldn´t change for nothing in the world!! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up RRS TDV8 Modelyear 2009 with some modifications.

I hope your problems will be solved soon under warranty.
But I would like to know what was LR reaction to the rusty underbody you mentioned in the beggining of your post. Also if finally they discover the "turbo" problem what will be their excuse. 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed
