I know many people will probably scoff however I had Rodian on my 22"ers and they did 31k miles on the front and are still 5mm on the back. They are not a high profile brand but cost about £150 a corner fitted which seems to be far better value than other brands. I have not noticed any poor handling in wet or dry so have been very happy with them.

Very fair point - often the budget tyres perform very well in comparison to the usual premium suspects.

I have Hankook at £115 and they out perform my £250 michelin pilots by a mile! they are quieter on the road, absorb bumps better and they have a higher grip level both on and off road so lets see how they wear and they might be a winner. people go for the expensive brands saying that its the only thing keeping you on the road but some times these boutique brands are just a name and the actual product is actually not really all that good. my last set of tyres were £1150 fitted my Hankooks £460 fitted and I love it. |
