:censored: LR tools

This happened to me today when I was changing the wheel...

And this is my improvisation to finish the job!

This is the last thing I would expect that could happen!! So be careful when using this and always have extra one Evil or Very Mad RANGE ROVER, MORE THAN A CAR, LESS THAN A KITKAT

There - fixed it for you. Alternatively, just 'phone LRA and let them do it.

LR supplied jack and other tools are absolute Censored . You shouldn't have to, but do yourself a favour and buy some proper ones. Thumbs Up

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Yes I also managed to bend the wheel nut key so replaced it with a proper hex head socket and a rachet from Halfrauds, I also invested in a £39.99 torque wrench from them as well so now I can do the nuts up to the right setting and not damage the lugs/ wheels - never had to change a wheel since buying any of the kit too! My Defender also has the most stupid nut key that bent at first use and is now replaced by a proper socket and rachet.

Dadenek, it's as well you didn't need to use the jack - they are the most dangerous things going and several members here have had them collapse with the car jacked up. Unfortunately RRS doesn't have any slots for a HiLift jack in the chassis otherwise I would carry the one from the 90 around instead of the stupid thing the factory supplies. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

That's really disappointing to see, having only looked at them briefly I thought they looked a big improvement to what came with my old Discovery, but seeing how thin the connecting tabs are it's not that surprising that they snapped.

Is it really that expensive for LR to give decent tools that are up to the task?

The LR tools will work proper if wheelnuts are at the correct torque, but if your dealer used an airhammer the nut are too tight for this tooling.

So I remove my wheel with the LR wrench thingy, replace it with the spare and tighten it to the handbook spec torqie setting - oh I can't 'cos it's not a torque wrench and I have to guess !! Whistle

So the obligation is on me to have my own 3rd party torgue wrench and carry it around with me Laughing
