United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Alaska White
Extended Warranty Advice Please

My RRS's manufacturers warranty is just about to end so I've started to make some enquiries about alternatives.

LR have quoted £975 for 12 months which includes LR assist

Warranty Wise have quoted £650 for 12 months for all the big value mechanical and electrical items but this does not include interior, airbags, bodywork. These can be added at extra cost. Interestingly, this quote is based on an hourly rate which you can alter so I have assumed £90 per hour. Plus you only need to go to a VAT registered garage rather than an official LR dealer.

Two questions:

1) Has anyone had any experience of having to use a Warranty Wise policy in anger? Was it an easy process to get them to agree to fund the work?

2) My RRS has just clocked 54K miles. Are there any known reliability issues for vehicles heading towards 60K+ miles? As you can add specific items to their policy I want to make sure the most risky items are covered.

Thanks in advance for advice given.

Have a look at the Tesco warranty. Go to our sister site where this issue has been discussed as the D3 is older than the RRS.

No real known issues with higher mileage cars that I can remember. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

I agree with VA

The tesco Finest car Warranty is a good one to go for. IIRC it provided by the same company that does LR and covers more stuff
