I recently had a new removable towbar fitted at Guy Salmon Land Rover in Portsmouth. When I picked it up, the installation and removal of the towbar was demonstrated to me. Very neat. I like it.

However, I wasn't shown how to access the towbar electrics ... that was part of the deal.

I think you undo some plastic screws on the bottom middle of the rear bumper ... but I can't seem to undo them. They just keep clicking while I turn them 'round. Is there a trick to this? I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

They should only be turned through ninety degrees to release the access plate. Look at the slot in the head of the turn buckle, once secure it should point left to right across the bumper. To release they should point fore and aft. Give the plate a little wiggle and it should drop free.

Refitting is a reversal of the above.

One word of warning though, don't be too heavy handed with turn buckles. They can become brittle and snap if you try to use too much force. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE.
