The scoop on chipping the tdv6

OK......after much searching I'm completely confused about chipping the v6. Shocked

Can anyone help out??

Is a plug in variety available (so it can be easily removed when car goes for servicing) or does the 'tin brain' need reprogramming via lap top and a brainiac.

Anyone comment on real world benefits?

Costs and recommendations?

Anyone know of a specialist in FNQ, around Cairns area.

(Sorry for all the questions. Hopefully one day I'll be answering questions rather than posting them)

Many thanks

DMH

PS - A little off topic, and excuse the ignorance, but wtf are tasmod sills! Less is more, more or less

I'm sure Pete at B.A.S could send you one of his units through the post, then you download the standard map and email him it, then he emails the remap back which you place on the hand held unit.

These download the remap, to the car, but also allow you to place the car back to standard map when visiting the dealers.

Might be worth contacting our sponsors Bell Auto Services.

DMH, Tasmods are metal sill plates which are made by one of the forum members.

They stick on to the existing door sills and look great Thumbs Up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

The key is having a re map that can be taken off before service so that the dealer cannot tell. The BAS system achieves this. Have a read of their website, it explains the process. Download the PDF instructions and have a read. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
