smashing wing mirror info

Just smashed my offside wing mirror by reversing past (and nearly missing) a loading ramp! The top peice is loose and the bottom half is ok. Cover and glass is smashed. I want to replace this myself so how do I take this off as there are no visible screws (please don't say give another go with the loading ramp!).

The glass is fragile and difficult to replace by yourself (as you will find it's ££££'s too) best to let the dealer replace the mirror and suffer the cost of several broken glasses than your wallet. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Agreed - replacing the mirror housing isn't that straightforward either if you need to do that. The glass itself is about £30 - and once you've wasted £30 a couple of times over trying to get the damn thing on, getting the dealer to do such a simple thing doesn't seem so odd anymore Very Happy

You need to speak to my missus, she has swiped one of each side (LHS reversing, RHS having a fight with white van man). Each time the whole thing was replaced at about £180 sheets.

She likes to inahalate them completely, not just scratch them Laughing

They keep them in stock for her now. Shocked I am amzed she has not taken out a complete side panel yet. Smoke me a kipper: I'll be back for breakfast.

RRS HSE TDV6 gone after 15 months since new - will not be missed I'm afraid - bit of a gremlin in there somewhere - too many issues. Replaced with FFRR Vogue TDV8 - very nice - not as sporty (of course) but absolute luxury.
