I'd imagine the replicas are about a third of the price Smile

And what about quality, load rating, durability etc.?
Or do these insignificant factors come after price?

Here we go Wink

With replicas, it's buyer beware isn't it? They are much cheaper and as long as they've proof of testing, I don't see why you shouldn't buy them. It's not reasonable to suggest that if you buy replicas they're going to come to pieces on you, even if some may have less provenance than others.

Smoogle, I must say that I do agree with your comment to a point. But tell, where lies the price difference then? I know that you are going to respond in brand name but it certainly does not make 70%. Wink

To be honest it is only my personal attitude against replicas of any kind...

I'd agree with you mate - I think OEM alloys are horrendously overpriced. That's the entire reason the replica industry exists if you ask me Thumbs Up

Brand name can certainly equate to 70%.

Manolo Blahnik shoes cost £500 a pair and cost £15 a pair to make!

Nike trainers @ £80 a pair cost £2 to make!

Brand names are often the bulk of a price

But is it justifiable? Not often.

A Phantom is justified at costing what it does - not much else imho.

Absolutely agree that the clothing industry has those margins. And certainly there is a big market for replicas out there giving potential to the replica "manufacturers" to expand. But the car industry is a different topic. The asking price is mostly justifiable by material, performance (and all other measures) you are getting.

But to contradict with what I am saying. Look at Kahn design and the rumors about the quality of their rims. Twisted Evil
