Jaguar Land Rover: The carmaker, along with Nissan’s UK factory, has won loans from the European Investment Bank in the first round of money for UK-based carmakers.

GM Daewoo: The South Korean division of General Motors, the American group, reported a full-year net loss of 875.7 billion won (£449.9 million), compared with a W540.5 billion profit last time.

AvtoVAZ: Russia’s biggest carmaker has agreed bridging loans of eight billion roubles (£162.4 million) from Sberbank and VTB, the state-controlled banks.

BMW: The German luxury carmaker said that it had sold 126,375 vehicles in March, a drop of 17.2 per cent from last year, but pointed to encouraging signs in the United States and Germany, its biggest markets.
