Details & commentary.: The first Freelander 2 "Stop Start " Land Rover will come off the production line at Halewood today. This is Land Rover's most fuel efficient car to date and is the world's first SUV to use 'Intelligent Stop Start' technology. This system cuts the engine when the car is stationary, and can save up to 15% CO2 emissions. It will also reduce the average fuel bill for the customer by up to £1,000 a year.

Was Mr Polites the Aussie guy who latterly was in charge at Jaguar?

If so, I read an article about him and how, despite terminal cancer carried on at the helm in order to see his job through to the end.
