My car was in Wed/Thur to have a few problems sorted out. All work was covered by the warranty including the ball joints being replaced. Take the car to another Dealership that will do the work under warranty.

I have never suffered from the knocking noises that have been reported , i would have thought for them to say they are worn etc that i would have some idea that there was a problem i.e knocking and the like but i havent noticed anything apparently wrong with the drive so maybe they are just talking need to look into it further , take it to another dealer or try customer services like you said , obviously its not a major issue or it wouldnt have passed the mot.

If I remember correctly didn't Land Rover produce an upgraded ball joint due to the original item suffering rapid wear? I think Jock reported this in one of his past posts a few months ago. Regardless of whether I am correct about the upgraded part, your dealer should replace the ball joints under warranty, as the car was with them prior to the warranty expiring. It does not matter that the warranty has expired in the meantime. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps. |

Just need to find a dealer that agrees that it should be under warranty , they wanted £500 to do it |

Yep there is an upgraded balljoint to replace the poorly designed one that kept breaking. It's a warranty job.
