Is LR cocking up the 3.0ltr TDV6?

In today's Autocar there is a roadtest of the XF with the 3.0ltr TDv6 which has sequential turbos same as BMW use. As an aside they mention that Land Rover will be using a "modified" single turbo version of the same engine, but don't say why. I expect it's for same reason that the 2.7 has a single turbo - offroadablity! After the sluggish performance of that compared to the lovely performance of the twin turbo 2.7 in the XJ Jags and Citroens you have thought LR might have thought twice about removing one of the turbos.
The 3.0ltr in the XF gets a very good review too. Let's hope the TDv8 doesn't disappear off the scene too soon. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I read on Autocar that LR will be offering 2 versions of the 3.0l V6 one with 237ps and a 272ps version

The facelifted Land Rover Discovery will take only the 237bhp unit, while the Range Rover Sport will be available only with the 272bhp engine and will benefit from a 66 per cent increase in torque, raised to 420lb ft.

There are no plans for Land Rover to use the new V6 elsewhere in its range, and will continue to use the V8 diesel engine in the facelifted Range Rover, also due in September.
