David Lloyd Gym Membership

Hi Guys, thinking of joining David Lloyd (Teesside) does anyone know of any good ways to negotiate a decent discount as their proces are quite high and they seem reluctant to budge, silly thing is ive got 3 of us ready to join/change gyms as of this week, i know they offer some corporate discounts but i dont work for any of their approved corporate's.

Cheers in advance Thumbs Up Current

I had a discounted corporate membership at a David Lloyd gym a long time back. It was through Accenture whom I worked for at the time. It may be worth checking if your employer (assuming you're not self employed) has a discount package in place with them or a.n.other gym.

I opted out of such places a while back though as its usually full of oddballs and meatheads who spend more time looking in the mirror than they do getting fit. It may be worth spending some time in the gym if you're aloof as I am reliably informed I am.

I now use a nice gym near my house which is only £80/month but has a far more distinctive class of member than David Lloyd did. I even got chatting to a few famous golfers there when the Open was at Hoylake - right after I dinged my golf balls into their helicopters on the driving range Smile WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

I have an old ski sock that hid in the bottom of the laundry basket unnoticed for a few weeks - that may have a more instant effect than oxygen. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

David Lloyd are doing some free gift stuff at the moment if you get someone to join. I remeber a pair of trainers being one of the free gifts but can't remember anything else. As for discounts my wife and I didn't get anywhere when we tried to get one.

Ah but this is Carden Park out in the boonies. They hold us to ransom as there is nothing else for miles around.

Worsley, Manchester? Thats a stones throw from my Salford Quays office which I am soon to leave for another week. Smile WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award
