Ever since I've owned my RRS I have had nothing but trouble regarding 20" alloys. Not so much the actual alloys, but finding a garage that will fit tyres on 20" rims.

With such bargains on "supply only" tyre websites it's hard not to oblige. Anyway, I'm going off topic slightly as I've sorted my tyres and had them fitted last Nov.

I have one alloy that could really do with a new lease of life and was thinking about having a smart repair done. I phoned a couple of garages to find out how much it would cost, but the max size alloy they can take on is 18". Something about having to deflate the tyre so they can get to the rim.

Has anyone ever managed to find a smart repairer that will take on the work? If so, at what cost?

I had my 20's reconditioned last week - I asked the local tyre fitting company if they could recommend anybody and it turned out they used a company round the corner from their unit on an industrial estate. The reconditioning company was a vehicle preparation and valeting company and the 4 wheels were returned looking like new. Cost me £240 for 3 wheels to be acid cleaned, repaired, sealed and coated and the one good one to be re-polished and sealed to match the other 3 . 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
