Correct, the TDV8 does have a timing chain, so you would ignore that bit, as it only applies to the V6. Re BMW X5 service indication above, it uses litres consumed instead of time, if you drive it hard the service comes up earlier. A very logical approach.

Apologies if I'm asking something that's already here on the site, or even in this thread, but could I just double-check what the service schedule is for the L494 3.0 SDV6 (292hp)? Is it a straight-forward variation between 'Service A' and 'Service B' at 12k, 24k 36k, 48k etc. miles? I'm not sure if there are also scheduled oil & filter only services in between the above service points.

Not just if LR has done the servicing. Other garages can be given permission to update the online system. My indie does this (and I've just checked and it's all there). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Can anyone tell me what should be covered in the 3rd year service for my 2021 RRS please? its done 74k?
had mixed reports that its just a normal service to it needs brake hose etc
