United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
RRS is a car for people who do not care...

I have already listed couple of problems with the DPF on my TDV8 causing various engine system failures. This problem is to be solved this week as the parts have already arrived to the dealer and the car is booked in for Friday.

However, last week as I went for a week break to Austria and decided to fly over to SK first and use my TDV6. Leaving my home bright and early for the 500km drive I wasn’t even surprised when all of a sudden I got a message “Transmition Fault”. Big Cry So as usual after couple of tries switching the engine on and off I rang LRA. The lovely lady together with some technician advised me to get the vehicle recovered to the nearest dealer in Vienna.

For the picture that I am already getting used see my gallery. Shocked

As it was Saturday afternoon and the dealer was closed I got a courtesy car to continue on my journey. Tuesday morning LRA rang me that they can not identify any cause of the fault and hence they were advised to change the CPU. I was told that since it has to be order to VIN it may take couple of weeks. Simultaneously I was made aware that the LRA lady managed to get me a courtesy car for €200 a day and that I have already exceeded the €580 limit when broken down. Being 400km from the car rental I mobilised the dealer in SK where I bought the car to solve the situation. He kindly offered to pay the courtesy car charges for the duration of my holiday. Thumbs Up

On Saturday I returned the courtesy car in Vienna and paid the bill which I am supposed to get covered in the coming days. But LR did not seem to care how do I get back to SK, another 60 km. Twisted Evil Latest update I got yesterday was that my car is not ready yet and they can not estimate when it will be. LRA claims that once repaired they will then deliver it to SK. Regarding the courtesy car charges the statement yesterday was in progress.

To conclude, I will only state that I will keep you updated how will this situation develop. Though do not mind me asking, what does LR expect from people who really use their RRS for living? They should at least provide with each car a good pair of boots, windbreaker and a bottle of whiskey to make waiting more pleasant… Rolling with laughter

Done less then a mile with the TDV6 and it is all back again... Big Cry

Managed to talk to one gentleman on the visit to dealer (in SK) who told me that on his RRS it took them 15.000 miles (almost a year) to fix it. And guess how did he fix the problem at the end, he sold the car for a price of a bicycle... Rolling with laughter

-----

As mentioned, went to dealer (in the UK) with the TDV8 as well. Part on the DPF was exchanged earlier then I have managed to drink my coffee... Thumbs Up

Done about 100 miles today and everything is running smoother then ever... Whistle

You are absolutely right, I wouldn't either... Big Cry
I sold the last car after getting the turbocharger exchanged twice but surprisingly for a higher price price than I bought the car... Thumbs Up
