Climate control knobs

Hi

I think I have got the hang of my climate control

On every other car I have owned with climate I set the temp but need to hit the snowflake button to activate the a/c even if the set temp is below the outside temp

On my RRS I cant see a snowflake button just an 'econ' button

Am I right in thinking that as a default the a/c compressor/dehumidifier/etc is active all the time as a default and if I want to turn it off I need to hit the 'econ' button?

Its just that it seems the opposite of everything else I have owned hence my confusion

Theo

OK as I suspected

I dont suppose having the compressor running full time in a 3 tonne car is going to make a huge difference

But why is it configured this way?
Nothing else I have ever driven has been

And is there anything to be gained by switching it off in the spring/autumn besides a little extra efficiency and steamed up windows Smile ?
