Max ground clearance

I know that D3 has a maximum ground clearance of 31 cm using all the gimmicks of the air suspension.

What about the RRS?

Looks like about 31cm to me. I think the suspension system on the D3 and RRS are the same - with the extra extended mode effecting a lot of clearance. I didn't get underneath and measure it though..... RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

I thought because initially the RRS is 1.5 cm lower then the max ground clearance will be also lower.
In the manual doesn't say exact numbers just that it will be 5 cm higher in offroad setting which means 22.7 total ground clearance which seems too low

Discovery is slightly wider and longer than RRS, can't find departure angles and off road height though for Disco.

Yes I know that numbers.
The think is that I also know that D3 can go up to 31 cm with all the suspension extended (super extended mode)
Is that case also for RRS? Or because is more tarmac oriented has any limitations?

Super Extended mode is also on the RRS but would at a guess say it's 1.3 cm lower. The Super extended Mode is automatic - you can not select it. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

If you need more offroad height then get a set of AT tyres or MTRs and they will give you an extra cm or two, but if you are worried about 1-2cms of height offroad then you are not enjoying your driving. Better to fit a Mantec
sump guard (there's a slightly used one for sale in the For Sale and Wanted section Whistle Whistle ) and slide around on it. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The only reason for the difference between D3 and RRS ground clearance is that the D3 is supplied with taller profile tyres. Thumbs Up

My concern started because I didn't know the exact figures for RRS and because most people consider RRS as tarmac oriented 4x4 while D3 is more offroad oriented.
Of course I have no problem with 1-2 cm. I used to have a Cherokee XJ with 21 cm differential clearance and went everywhere. So if I get the RRS with at least 23 cm clearance I can go anywhere too with the right protection.

Trust me the RRS can go wherever the Disco3 can go. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Into a caravan park?

To a carboot sale?

To a tarmac and bareknuckle fighting convention?

Rolling with laughter

It's the same everywhere. When I had the Cherokee, the Wrangler owners thought that they were the only real Jeepers

Yes, but now you are on the better side! Thumbs Up Bow down

But aren't Wrangler-drivers pimps (with a bad income because if the income was good they would drive a Viper Rolling Eyes ) while Cherokee-drivers are football-moms? Mr. Green
Laughing

The difference with RRS and D3 is different: I think, nobody here would tell, the D3 is not a good Landrover or 4x4, it's just that, well, look at the D3 (and it's owners Whistle Mr. Green ) and then have a look at the RRS (and it's owners Cool ).... Rolling Eyes Twisted Evil
