I have the bike rack fitted to the detachable tow bar. Any bike on the last holder does not get anywhere near the rear hatch, it is very secure.. If you are a very rare RRS owner who actually tows anything, this system does not get in the way of hitching

You can certainly get the LR G4 mountainbikes very cheaply now - these were over a £1000 if you bought them from a Land Rover Dealer a couple of years ago

MOR - I doubt many serious mountain bikers would give the owner of an RRS the time of day too...................... more likely to mutter "Posing git" under their breath! |

OK, so I like the Thule G5 909, but also the Thule Pro 903. The 909 looks better, but the 903 has 9kg more capacity. I will be driving around with 3/4 bikes, and I can expand both carriers to hold 4, but the weight limit worries me a bit.

If you are carrying around 3 or more bikes have you thought about a small trailer rather than having all that weight hanging off the back - the load on the towball is a lot less with a trailer and they aren't so much more expensive than a good bike rack. I have one of these converted to carry my windsurfing kit, but bike stands are easy to fit too. http://www.iwt.co.uk/products/motocinch.htm
