gear shift lever

Bow down please help
i recently purchased an rrs ipod integration kit and i started to fit it,as per instrutions it said pull off gear knob so i tryed while car was in park,it wasn,t happening,so i pulled harder and it came off.. BUT the plastic shaft from the gear knob down through the gear lever broke in half. half still on knob other half in lever, i can still drive but the trigger on the knob does not work. DOES anyone know how to get the other half out and is it a big job to remove gear lever to get the other half of the plastic shaft???????????[/u]

Isn't the press button there to activate the safety interlock that stops you accidentally going straight from R to D or the other way ........ I think you may be looking at a visit to the dealer to have your gearbox electronics looked at. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
