Hope somebody can help,I've pulled all my hair out.
I got my mum a new Dell laptop only a few months ago up until last week all OK.
Popped in last night to have a look at the problem and ended up bringing it home and after spending about 5 hours now I'm still none the wiser.
Basically the 3 buttons in the top RHS Minimize,restore down and Close don't work.
I've gone back to the last scheduled Restore Point,used CC Cleaner,removed Adobe Flash player which is what I was being told on an error panel was causing the problem.
I've run Malewarebytes,nothing malicious found.
Its also stopping me getting into Device Manager.
At the moment to close anything down I have to use f11 and X or CTR/Alt/Del and Tast manager/End task.
Scanned using AVG.
Anybody with any suggestions ? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

a quick google highlights the problem could be with nView (nVidia software) - does your Dell run nview?

I had it a while back, Autorun or something like that,

that should solve your problem, I couldnt get into control panel, properties of my computer etc

I'm not sure.
Just googled Nview and downloaded a registry monitor which seemed to highlight a huge amount of issues with registry entries misssing.
just need to work out how to repair them now.

After hours of trying to repair it from advice on several forums none of which seemed to work I ended up having to reformat and using the rescue disc to start all over again.
Working fine again now. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

I think the problem can be caused by a wide variety of issues.
If you Google it ,it is a very common problem with many different solutions,none of which seemed to work for me.
