Our front passenger seat armrest keeps dropping down so it is resting on the centre console and the leather makes a constant squeaking on the cherry wood trim. You can then turn the adjuster to put the armrest pack to the correct position, but then in about two days time it is back resting on the centre console again.
Has anyone else got problems with their armrests? I suppose the plastic adjuster screw mechanism is problem, but I wouldn't be surprised if this turns into a major job to fix it. Matt

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!

Mine used to do that too, until I got fed up with it and decided I preferred to rest my arm on the centre armrest anyway. I think I thought the same as you Matt, if I take it to be fixed am I going to be without it for 3 days while they decide how to put it back together again....

I had what appeared to be a similar problem. The armrest was in the correct position, but if any pressure was put on it, it would drop.
The problem turned out to be that the armrest wasn't actually "resting" on the adjuster, but on the edge of the central console and if any pressure was put on it, it would fall off the edge.
The solution was to turn in the adjuster so that the arm was resting on that rather than the console. Someone had turned the adjuster down too far beyond the lower level of free movement for the arm.
Does that make sense ?

It sort of makes sence PaulB, but then I have adjusted the knob so that the armrest is high (too high), but then over two days it slowly falls back down until it is resting on the centre console trim. Matt
