Ah, but can you fit a set of side steps which automatically electrically appear out from the underside of the car when you want to get in .... and then disappear under the car again when you get in?

Found a place called Les Potts that just does Land Rovers but independent - seem very capable and friendly. Booked it in for Monday to get the side steps done and for them to look over it as I only bought it 4 days ago

Hario, many of the independents are first class and truly love their Landies - any Landy, new or old, so have no fear about using one. There is another indy in the NE who sometimes posts here - Bell Auto Sevices and IIRC the owner also runs an RRS! Try using the search function to find his posts. There is also a big indy up in the Newcastle area called Cheviot 4x4 who would do the job. The indy I use for my Def90 things charges £30 an hour for labour and operates from a workshop that would rival a maindealers service bay for kit even though it's a huge and basic breeze block shed with 100's of scrap Landies parked outside. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Mercury I too had a loaner FFRR a couple of years ago with the retracting side steps and posted a video of them in action................... yes they are really cool, UNTIL you have to change a wheel at the roadside when you have to get the car jacked up and then you have to remove the whole sheebang step system before you can get a jack under the car to change a wheel! Not the best design really! With the fixed steps you don't have this problem 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it 2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced 2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW |
