England 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver
Nav DVD

Hi everybody

Just taken delivery of our first RRS or any 4x4 actully. Its a 2007 TDV8 HSE and its lovley. But just had our first "glitch". The Sat Nav would not read the disc, so I ejected the disc and reloaded it and its fine, so far. The question I have for this most knowledgeable of forums is, I have a DVD disc dated 2005 would this be correct for a 2007 car?

Andy

Welcome skint Very Happy

The 2005 DVD will work fine, but it's out of date. If you bought it privately that would explain it I guess, but if you bought as approved used from a main dealer it's a bit churlish to not put in the latest DVD.

Welcome, unfortunately I cannot answer your question, DVD version names is a very secret science... Wink

But if I may I would add one question: What would an actual DVD cost?
Thanks. Very Happy RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

About £200 from a dealer I think - not cheap Confused But you can get them cheaper elsewhere - eBay, Navteq themselves etc.

Well, 200 sounds fine to me. Cool
I just sold my Nav-CDs from my old satnav: Italy for 40 €, Alp region (ie Austria and Switzerland) for 50 €, both used and not actual! The whole CD-set Western Europe would cost you 350 € - used from ebay! So I am used paying a lot of money for my satnav maps. Rolling Eyes Wink

Am I right when thinking the UK and the German DVD version are the same? The Pound to Euro exchange-rate is so low these days I only shop ebay UK. Mr. Green

@skint: Sorry for not answering your question, in fact do you know when your car was produced or just the first registration? I think the satnav DVDs are always up to date when the car leaves the company (although it may of course be that in certain cases they may have used not actual ones). RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue

Hi skint,

seems like we both just did the same thing - I just bought a 2007 TDV8 HSE also, and also found an older DVD in it. I got a new one from the landrover web site. If you go to the land rover uk web site and go to this link

http://www.landrover.co.uk/gb/en/vehicles/...htm?page=7

there is a button there to get navigation dvd updates which I did and got the 2008/09 dvd posted out. Cost is about 155 shipped and it's in my car and working fine now. It includes some software updates too so follow the instructions exactly in the navigation manual and it will do a software download when you put it in as well as update maps.

hope that helps Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE, Buckingham Blue with Ebony Black

Thanks very much for all the info, but I will go and speak to my dealer. Am I being unfair in my reasoning Evil or Very Mad , a 2007 car should be supplied with a 2007 disc? I would think it left LR with it fitted?

There was quite a long gap between the original 2005 disc coming out and the production of the next newest disc. I've got an idea there wasn't a new one throughout all of 2006 so it may have been that yours was early enough 2007 to still get the 2005 DVD at the factory. But as the dealer resold it to you, it would have been nice to stick in the newest DVD.
