07 plate

V5 date of first registration 11/05/07
V5 date of first registration in the UK 11/05/07

does that make it a MY07 or MY08

only consued as Glass guide gives two options when I enter the number plate

If it not an import, it is a 2007 07MY after March 2007 up till September 2007 registration plate will be - - 07 - - - Before March 2007 and after September 2006 it would be --56 - - - After September2007 till March 2008 reg will be - - 57 - - -. If there was a facelift at this time it would be a 08MY. There are a few independant dealers importing from Ireland with irish plates on them. One big one is in Essex itisme

Sorry, but MY is down to when it was built, not when it was registered. Look ay your VIN number, that will give you the MY

His car was first registered in 07. It cant be registered until it is built. So it was either built in 07 or before itisme

It goes on Model Year, not date of registration...

They would have started building 2008MY cars around mid 2007 Thumbs Up

Indeed it can. Mine has a MY08 VIN but was first registered in Nov 07. Presumably it was built in Sept/Oct 07.

Confusing stuff this MY thing! Rolling with laughter

Actually, I would guess MY is tied into the traditional car change time on the old car registration system. People buying a new plate car would want it to be the latest spec, not immediately out of date a month or two later. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Spain

QP & M Build cars can and do find there way into the Market place, so it is Possible to have a particular MY that was built very early.

Sorry, did not want to say the same thing in different words, else I would have said it in Spanish. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Should be a MY08, my 07 reg RRS was a MY08 and was registered in same month.

The VIN would tell you the MY year. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

2012 RRS SDV6 HSE -Orkney Grey with A/B bodykit - Now Gone Sad
2007 RRS TDV6 HSE - Zermatt Silver - Gone

No, it's not

If his car was registered in 07, it can be an 07 or 08 MY

It has nothing to do with date of registration
