I’ve tried Firefox in the past & to be perfectly honest can’t see any difference at all between it & IE !!

But yet I often read comments such as this, someone saying that they hate IE & Firefox is the only way to go as it’s much better.

But I really can’t see any difference at all, they both do exactly the same thing....... browse the internet Exclamation

Could someone enlighten me Confused

JayMann's Computer Resources Centre did indeed solve my problem - I use Firefox all the time. Clear out your Cookies and cache and that should fix it! Might be worth setting your log out to clear recent history and cookies.

Rupert I think that all the browers are now copying each other - IE used to be terrible for popups and also secretly loading t6hings onto your computer - Mozilla developed Firefox and that was able to block them which made it appear to work faster. Now Microsoft have added the same software and they are much the same. I also have Safari on my XP operated laptop - hardly ever use it on the laptop but that's the only browser that will work on my iPhone as far as I know 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes Tim, I do remember now that IE used to be a "pop up fest" alright. But as you say, that seems to be pretty much solved with IE7, which I quite like.

Safari I do quite like too, which I have on the iMac & also the iPhone. Often meant to try it on my XP machine. So a wee project for Rupert over the weekend.

what makes firefox standout is the addons / extensions, they totally transform the browser.

it seems that there is always some addon to do what you want

Well I guess that seeing the only feature I use is favourites, that may be why I don't see the benefit of Firefox.

Could I ask, what sort of add ons, to do what Question

ok, some of the ones I have installed are

colorful tabs - makes each tab a different color
Download Status bar - instead of the popup window for downloads it shows you their status at the bottom of the browser
downThemAll - Download Manager
Foxmarks - syncs bookmarks accross multiple pc's - handy if you use a couple of machines (laptop, desktop, work pc)
Foxy Tunes - control itunes from inside the browser without having to switch programs
Google Preview - small preview window in google when you search

there are loads just depends on what you use your machine for.

I also started using a password generator and cache/vault that was recommended by Firefox - it started out as shareware but I think now it is subscription... Big Cry Big Cry But it's a useful program all the same. WWW.Roboform.com It also allows you to transfer your passwords from one machine to another and can auto fill forms that you might have to complete regularly as well. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Neither had I and I suspect it might have been because Firefox did an update recently to a new version and I downloaded it. The strange thing was it was only RRSport that suffered Freel2/FFRR and D3 and all the other sites I regulalry visit and stay logged into were fine 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
