MORE KNOCKING SUSPENSION !!!!

Evening Gents , yes here is another , my RR Sport TDV8 HSE 08 Overfinch , has this KNOCKING from the front suspension , and it had got worse , mine noe has done 6000miles.

Spoke to dealer , LR of Canterbury , again said its normal , and once over (i think 27mph) the ARC cuts in and stops the noise , well today i was nearing 40mph and still KNOCK KNOCK !!

Going to call them on Monday to book it in , i read that by taking the "fuse" out relating to this cures the KNOCKING anyone tried it ?

Let me know , once you have stopped munching on that turkey sandwich !!

Some dealers will help others simply wash their hands. If your present dealer looks like the latter take it to another dealer. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

The whole knocking problem can be a number of things or a combination of them. Yes taking the fuse out seems to work for some but it's not a solution. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Morning , well just removed the 15amp fuse relating too the ARC system , and the results are a disappointing
No difference , yes it stopped the "knock" sound if you moved the steering left to right very fast , but that was it !!!

So i guess im gonna have to go to the dealer Sad Big Cry

how noticeable is this knocking RRS are afflicted with?

Was in the isle of man last week and noticed that there was a knocking when going over small bumps etc - but sounded more like there was play in the suspension? Is this the dreaded knocking or something else?

Well im going to call my dealer in the morning , and if i am right guys request the following

1. replace the two antiroll bar stirrup bushes

2. software upgrade "dvd 105 patch file 3"

3. new design ball joint ?

4 anti roll bar ?

Then it may stop this knocking , which has got worse over this week !!

People, removing the fuse is not a solution, yes it may reduce or subdue the knocking noise somewhat, but you will be effectively be removing the cornering capabilities of the car, cue FFRR.

If you do not mind the wallowing effect, knock yourselves out and remove it.

A more pro active approach would be to collectively do something, that something I am unsure off. Big Cry

In summary and not to be the bearer of bad news, there is no solution currently, there is however conclusive evidence that the problem is becoming more and more widespread. The boys and gals at LR are playing the cards very close to their chests on this one and we still do not have any forthcoming date for this most irritating and embarrassing of noises. Anyone with an 09 model suffered this?

I am desperately hoping the issue has been resolved in newer models but suspect this may not be the case. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

I some how think not yet.

I understand LR intend to put the DR system on the next lightweight aluminium version of the FFRR and I suspect that will be the first time we will see this problem engineered out of it.

Can't immagine they are going to produce a FFRR with an intended characteristic knocking suspension system..... Whistle

As to when the RRS will get sorted well............... Whistle TDV6 - gone

So I just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope I don't have an affected model I guess.

I'm not usually that lucky though. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

Sorry I think that is the case at the moment. But perhaps someone in the know will post a more hopeful answer before you make your decision.

Having said that this an annoying problem, I still really love driving this car even with the fault. TDV6 - gone
