Insurance

I have just insured my vehicle with Priviledge which was considerably lower cost to that of my renewal with M&S £256 against £375 but once again I have been asked for the original document showing th vehicles Thatcham security. When completing the application on line I just ticked the box for the standard security device as fitted to the vehicl by the manufacturer.
How do I get this certificate does anyone know or had the same problem?

Thanks in advance all

I am told I am not insured for theft until I produce all original documents ie Tracker certificate which I have and the original Tracker certificate.
Is the handbook the original and do I need to send that?
I am a little peeved as I took the policy out on line two days before it was needed and received the policy two days after I needed it running and now find I am not insured for theft until they accept the doccumentation is correct.

Everyone need to be aware that completing an online form is not acceptance and you are not necessarily insured.

Thanks, found it in the handbook (I was looking for something more like a certificate) I cannot understand why insurance companies dont know what is standard on a vehicle. They seem to know if you have had previous claims. They dont ask how many wheels its got.

Any excuse not to pay up!
But every excuse to take more money.

glad to be of assistance, obviously not the best to send a manual to the insurers, i bet they wouldn't send it back if you did Rolling Eyes

Could LR Customer services be on any assistance by sending a letter to them?

Hi npinks
I tried that last year when M&S asked the same question but LR said they dont issue anything as it is a standard in all RRS.
Why the insurers dot understand that I dont understand.
