Is it possible to reduce the volume of the incoming call alert tone on the factory fitted PTI.

Thanks

Maybe there is no answer or the answer is no, Leeds Mr. Green I've never heard a ring on mine, the radio/cd just goes quiet when there is an incoming call. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes! This caused me to spill hot coffee on myself the first time it happened. I thought there was an air raid going on!!!

Whilst the ringer is ringing....turn down the volume knob, simple.

(P.S. above I am telling you to rotate the knob that controls the volume, I am not saying turn down the volume......KNOB!)

Sorry, I've not heard of that being possible! Sad
Maybe the easy and fast way will be to use the audio volume control switch on the steering wheel when the phone rings? Malaysia Boleh!

What's your default PTI volume? The ringer goes off in my car as well, but never seemed that loud to me so I never looked into ways to lower its volume. I am thinking it may be related to the PTI volume itself? I have mine set at 23, normally loud enough to hear the other person - although depending on the call sometimes I need to raise it a bit while talking to the other party.

PS: My BlackBerry is set to Vibrate when in its belt holster, therefore I usually "feel" an incoming call and pick it up (or reject it) before the ringer in the car has a chance to go off. Very Happy

Turn on the radio then press and hold the button with a musical note icon (upper left corner of the volume knob) until the LCD shows "AVC Level" (or something like that.) Push the same button a few more times until the display shows "Phone Volume" or "PTI volume", and use the volume knob to increase or decrease the value. I think you can go anywhere from 0 to 35, just like the regular volume level. Like I said, somewhere around 20-25 is usually good for voice. Again, I am not positive changing this parameter would solve your ringer issue, but it's worth a shot. You can adjust other volumes from that menu, such as system prompt voice, navigation voice offset, etc.
