When voice speaks a command use the volume knob to turn down. This sets the command volume at desired level. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Or keep pressed for about 3 seconds the musical note button, various audio levels should be selectable. |

That will only work temporarily, unless they fixed that bug on later model years - but why would they? It's a Land Rover! Your eardrums are still going to pop the next time the satnav gal blares the next turn instructions. The problem is that the stupid navigation volume can be only adjusted as an offset of the master volume (you can adjust the offset the way Korenai says), it's not "fixed" like the volume of the PTI. Therefore, if your master volume is at 28, expect the navigation instructions to be ultra-loud every time they come on. You can adjust the offset down to the max to make it tolerable (barely), but then you may not be able to hear a thing when playing another source - like the radio or a CD - that does not require the volume to be adjusted so high. If I am listening to my iPod, I usually turn off the satnav voice and just rely on the monitor directions to get me there. Annoying as hell. |

Have you got "source tone memory" on or off, does that make any difference? The settings for voice etc should behave as an offset on the main volume.... Cheers

It's on, but it doesn't make one iota of difference (in my car.) I think that tone memory thingie is for bass / treble / sub levels / balance + fader for each source only, it does not remember the offset level you set (navigation offset volume, AVC speed dependent volume compensation, PTI volume, etc.), since those settings seem to affect the system globally rather than just a specific source, and are all grouped under a different menu. |
